La Educación en Carabobo en el Marco de la Dictadura del General Marcos Pérez Jiménez (1952-1958)

Abstract

La educación en Carabobo, como en todo el país, durante el gobierno del General Marcos Pérez Jiménez, va a estar condicionada por la naturaleza militarista de su mandato y de los propósitos que se fijó al llegar al poder, haciendo uso tanto del Estatuto Provisional de Educación de 1949, como de la Ley de Educación de 1955. Evaluarlo en ese sentido no es ni será tarea fácil, sin embargo, amén de sus otras actuaciones ajenas al hecho educativo, puede decirse que la educación en nuestra región no se estancó; avanzó aun cuando no fuese en los términos deseables. Tanto en matrícula estudiantil, cantidad y variedad de instituciones, y en la atención al docente.

Education in Carabobo, as in the entire country, during the government of General Marcos Pérez Jiménez, will be conditioned by the militaristic nature of his mandate and the purposes that he set when he came to power, making use of both the Provisional Statute of Education of 1949, as of the education law of 1955.
