Influencia de los Podcasts en la reafirmación de la identidad. Un estudio de caso

Abstract

Este estudio describe el proceso de reafirmación de la identidad de una estudiante a partir de la integración de los podcasts como herramienta tecnológica en actividades participativas de la clase de inglés como lengua extranjera en el Sistema de Educación Superior en Venezuela. Para tales fines, se revisó el discurso y se analizó la participación de una estudiante cursante de la asignatura Inglés I de la escuela de Idiomas Modernos de una universidad en el occidente del país. Enmarcado en el paradigma Interpretativo de investigación, se establecieron una serie de actividades participativas orientadas por el uso de los podcasts tanto dentro como fuera del aula para, por una parte derivar el proceso de aprendizaje significativo de la estudiante; por otra parte, describir el proceso de reafirmación de la identidad como resultado de la participación e interacción que se generó producto de las actividades previas. Para esto se analizó el discurso de la estudiante tanto en la participación in situ de las actividades académicas como en secciones de reflexión donde la estudiante y el docente abordaron temas de análisis post actividades. El estudio cierra con el análisis de los resultados conjuntamente con una descripción de los hallazgos en cuanto al objeto de estudio.

This study describes the process of reaffirming the identity of a student through the integration of podcasts as a technological tool in participatory activities of the English as a Foreign Language class in Higher Education in Venezuela. For such purpose, the discourse and the participation of the student was reviewed and analyzed attending an English I course of the Modern Languages School in a university located in Western part of the country. Framed in the Interpretive research paradigm, a series of participatory activities were established and guided by the use of podcasts both inside and outside the classroom to, on the one hand, derive the significant learning process from the student; on the other hand, to describe the process of reaffirming identity as a result of the participation and interaction in the previous activities. For this, the discourse of the student was analyzed both in situ meanwhile participating in the academic activities and in reflection sections where the student and the teacher approached topics of post-activity analysis. The study closes with the analysis of the results together with a description of the findings regarding the object of study
