La comprensión de la realidad geográfica del inicio del nuevo milenio desde la enseñanza de la Geografía

Abstract

El propósito del artículo es comprender la realidad geográfica del inicio del nuevo milenio, desde la enseñanza de la geografía. Al respecto, se asume la existencia de tiempos complicados en rápido proceso de transformación y cambio, en una situación impregnada de difíciles problemáticas de notable influencia en el orden social y humano. Allí el problema obedece a la vigencia de los fundamentos tradicionales en la geografía y su enseñanza, mientras se aportan apoyos significativos e innovadores en el ámbito científico y pedagógico en la geografía y su enseñanza. Metodológicamente se realizó una revisión bibliográfica para explicar los hechos sociohistóricos del inicio del nuevo milenio y la necesidad de innovarla enseñanza de la geografía. Se concluye al resaltar la importancia de promover una orientación científica y pedagógica de la geografía, con capacidad de concientizar la sociedad sobre cómo entender y mejorar las dificultades de la época.

The purpose of the article is to understand the geographical reality of the beginning of the new millennium, fromthe teaching of geography. In this regard, it assumes the existence of complicated times in rapid process of transformation and change, in a situation steeped in difficult problems of remarkable influence in the social and human order. There theproblem is due to the validity of traditional foundations in geography and its teaching, while providing significant and innovative support in the scientific and pedagogical field in geography and its teaching. Methodologically, a bibliographic reviewwas conducted to explain the sociohistoric facts of the start of the new millenniumand the need to innovate the teaching of geography. It concludes by highlighting the importance of promoting a scientificand pedagogical orientation of geography, with the ability to raise awareness of society on how to understand and improve the difficulties of the time.
