dc.descriptionThe COVID-19 pandemic meant a radical change in the dynamic of our societies, its consequences have not only been observed at the social, health, economic and political level, but have also brought repercussions in the educational field, a space where the virtual education emerged as the dominant teaching paradigm. However, the rapidity of the changes and the digital divide that historically has existed in Venezuela, has brought too many limitations in the technological access of university students, a fact that is increased by the social and economic crisis that the country is going through for almost a decade. Considering this, and taking the concept of digital divide as the main focus, this work analyzes the Venezuelan virtual educational scenario during the COVID-19 pandemic, characterizing the impact of the main existing problems at the infrastructure, resources and digital literacy level on students and teachers of education institutes, to conclude by reflecting about the challenges and possible solutions from human development approach.en-US
dc.descriptionLa pandemia de COVID-19 significó un cambio radical en la dinámica de nuestras sociedades, sus consecuencias no solo se han observado a nivel social, sanitario, económico y político, sino que también han traído repercusiones en el ámbito educativo, espacio donde la educación virtual emergió como el paradigma de enseñanza dominante. Sin embargo, la rapidez de los cambios suscitados y la brecha digital que históricamente ha existido en Venezuela, trajo como consecuencia grandes limitaciones en el acceso tecnológico de los universitarios, hecho que se vio acrecentado por la crisis social y económica que el país atraviesa desde hace casi una década. Considerando esto, y tomando como eje central el concepto de brecha digital, el presente artículo analiza el escenario educativo virtual venezolano durante la pandemia de COVID-19, caracterizando el impacto de los principales problemas existentes a nivel de infraestructura, recursos y alfabetización digital sobre estudiantes y docentes de institutos educativos, para concluir reflexionando acerca de los desafíos y las soluciones posibles desde un enfoque centrado en el desarrollo humano.es-ES
