dc.descriptionEl artículo presenta una revisión teórica de la maternidad humana planteándola como fenómeno psicocultural y no como un hecho netamente biológico. Para esto se recurre a la explicación de la naturalización de la maternidad y se hace referencia a los conceptos de crianza y función materna en diferentes períodos de la historia.Human maternity and its social-historical evolutionAbstractThis article presents a theoretical review of human motherhood considered as a psycho-cultural phenomenon, and not as a purely biological fact. To carry out this review, an explanation of naturalization of motherhood, and a reference to the concepts of rearing and the function of motherhood in different stages of history is considered.es-ES
