dc.descriptionLa atracción es una manifestación universal que aparece en las diferentes culturas y épocas. Forma parte de la naturaleza humana, puesto que es una condición indispensable para la perpetuación de la especie. Si bien existen manifestaciones de la atracción en los animales, en la especie humana esta adquiere características particulares que van apareciendo en el transcurso de la evolución. Con la necesidad de buscar y escoger una pareja en el largo plazo, emergen los circuitos cerebrales del amor romántico, que involucran zonas anatómicas específicas que se activan y se desactivan durante la fase del enamoramiento. Así mismo, se conoce que existen ciertas sustancias químicas, que son las causantes de las diversas manifestaciones y sensaciones que se presentan al estar enamorado.Biological bases of attractionAbstractAttraction is an universal manifestation that emerges in different cultures and times. It is part of the human nature since it is a necessary condition to the species to be perpetuated. If it is true that manifestations of attraction exist among animals, in the human species this attraction acquires peculiar characteristics which appear in the process of evolution. Due to the need of finding out an choosing a couple in the long term, brain circuits of romantic love emerge which involve specific anatomical zones that actívate and desactívate themselves during the loving phase. Likewise, it is known the existence of certain chemical substances which are the cause of different manifestations and sensations when falling in love.es-ES
