dc.descriptionResumen.La presente investigación exploró los factores psicosociales que afectan la asistencia de mujeres a la jornada de pesquisa de VPH y cáncer de cuello uterino en la población de Macapo, Cojedes-Venezuela.  El  diseño  consistió  en  una  investigación de campo, descriptiva, con entrevistas semiestructuradas a 14 mujeres, mayores de 18 años que rehusaron asistir a las jornadas realizadas en dicho municipio. Los resultados arrojaron factores a nivel sociocultural, del servicio sanitario y personal, donde resaltan la falta de confianza en la relación médico-paciente, desconocimiento y desinformación sobre el VPH y la citología, y vergüenza, apuntando a la necesidad de mejorar los vínculos terapéuticos, desarrollar campañas educativas tempranas y limitar el número de visitas necesarias para el tratamiento, para evitar la deserción. Psychosocial factors that affect the attendance to days of search of HPV and cervical cancer in women from Macapo municipality, VenezuelaAbstract.The  present  investigation  explored  the  psychosocial  factors that  affect  women’s  attendance  to  the  day  of  HPV‘s  search and  cervical  cancer  in  the  population  of  Macapo,  Cojedes State, Venezuela. The design consisted of a descriptive field research. 14 women who were above the age of 18 answered semi structured interviews. They refused to attend the days realized in the above mentioned municipality. Results reveal the inf luence of sociocultural factors, sanitary and personal services such as lack of confidence in doctor-patient bond, ignorance and misleading information about the HPV and the Pap test and a sense of shame. These findings point out the need to improve the therapeutic relationships, to develop early educative campaigns and to limit the number of visits in order to avoid giving up the treatment.es-ES
