dc.descriptionThis article attempts to look at what is that has made possible and desirable the formulation of a determinate project of democracy for Latin America, given modernity that seems to open space for difference and even incommensurable conceptions of democracy. Specifically, the author attempts to supply the elements to answer the following question: What is the background on which they desire to construct a more fair and participative democracy in Latin America that is manifested as problematic? For this purpose, the article briefly reviews a possible relation between the debate over democracy in Western industrialized societies and the authentically democratic projects that, according to the author, appears to be in the making at the roots of the Latin American people. All this is from the perspective is grounded on a dynamic and historical conception of social phenomena.en-US
dc.descriptionEl artículo pretende invesigar, ante un devenir de la modernidad que pareciera abrir espacio a distintas e incluso inconmensurables concepciones de democracia, qué ha hecho posible que América Latina se formule un proyecto determinado de democracia como deseable. Más concretamente, se busca aportar elementos para responder la siguiente cuestión: ¿Cuál es el trasfondo en el que se manifiesta como problemática vital el deseo de construir una democracia más justa y participativa en América Latina? Para ello, el artículo pasa sucinta revista a una relación posible entre el debate sobre la democracia en las sociedades industrializadas de Occidente y el proyecto auténticamente democrático que, según el autor, pareciera estarse gestando en las raíces mismas del pueblo latinoamericano; todo a partir de una perspectiva fundamentada en una concepción dinámica, histórica, de los fenómenos sociales.es-ES
