dc.descriptionIntroduction: Psoriasis is an autoimmune, chronic and currently incurable disease, which is not contagious and has a large inherited component. Objective: To analyze the women with psoriasis psychosocial effects in the Dermatology Service of the Dr. “Israel RanuárezBalza” Hospital in San Juan de los Morros, Guárico state (Venezuela) in 2016-2017. Materials and methods: The research was a quantitative paradigm, was framed in the positivist approach, the type was field, descriptive and transversal level. In order to identify the women with psoriasis clinical-epidemiological characteristics, a sample of sixty (69) patients that make up the total medical Dermatology Service of the Dr. Israel Ranuárez Balza Hospital registered records, was taken for the year 2016-2017. From this total sample, twenty (20) patients were selected who attended the consultation to apply a questionnaire in order to investigate the possible psychosocial effects generated by this disease. Results: About the clinical-epidemiological characteristics in the patients, it can be highlighted that 30% have red spots on the skin of silver sores. The 56% distributed in symptoms and signs such as small scale points, dry and cracked skin that can bleeding, itching, burning, pain, striated and thickened nails and swelling and stiffness in the joints with 7% in each alternatives. The disease effects that impact psychosocially on the women consulted can be associated with the rejection of themselves, the abandonment of their favorite hobbies, and withdrawal from the social environment. Conclusions: the patients feel stigmatized getting to feel offensive glances from other people thus affecting their life quality.  en-US
dc.descriptionIntroducción: La psoriasis es una enfermedad autoinmune, crónica, actualmente incurable, que no es contagiosa y tiene un gran componente hereditario. Objetivo: Analizar los efectos psicosociales de las mujeres con psoriasis del Servicio de Dermatología del Hospital Dr. “Israel Ranuárez Balza” de San Juan de los Morros, estado Guárico (Venezuela) en el año 2016- 2017. Materiales y métodos: La investigación fue de paradigma cuantitativo, se enmarcó en el enfoque positivista, el tipo fue de campo, nivel descriptivo y transversal. Para identificar las características clínicoepidemiológicas de las mujeres con psoriasis se tomó una muestra de sesenta y nueva (69) pacientes que conforman el total de las historias médicas registradas en el Servicio de Dermatología del Hospital Dr. “Israel Ranuárez Balza, para el año 2016-2017. De esta muestra total se seleccionaron veinte (20) pacientes que acudieron a la consulta para aplicar un cuestionario con el fin de indagar los posibles efectos psicosociales generados por esta enfermedad. Resultados: De las características clínico-epidemiológicas de las pacientes se puede destacar que el 30% presenta manchas rojas en la piel de escaras plateadas, un 56% por ciento repartido en síntomas y signos como pequeños puntos en escala, piel seca y agrietada que puede sangrar, picazón, ardor, dolor, uñas estriadas y engrosadas e hinchazón y rigidez en las articulaciones con 7% en cada una de las alternativas. Los efectos de la enfermedad que impactan psicosocialmente a las mujeres consultadas pueden asociarse al rechazo de sí mismas, al abandono de sus pasatiempos favoritos, retiro del entorno social. Conclusiones: Las pacientes se sienten estigmatizadas llegando a sentir miradas ofensivas de las demás personas afectando así su calidad de vida.  es-ES
