dc.descriptionIntroduction: In humanized care, values such as solidarity, respect, empathy, among others, are put into practice, which is why it must be promoted in the nursing area so that it is cultivated, learned and practiced by the professionals. Objective: To determine the care provided by the nursing professional in patients undergoing surgery in a government entity. Methodology: The research is descriptive, transversal in scope. The design was non-experimental, the technique used was the survey of 362 patients in the operating room area of the hospital under study, and the instrument was a questionnaire of 31 questions where the variable of humanized care was evaluated. Results: the most frequent age of the patients is between 31 and 40 years, closely followed by people between 41 and 50 years. Most of the patients work under dependency, being a total of 320 people and only 26 individuals work independently. It is evident that recurring nursing staff sometimes provide explanations about the processes that they are going to carry out to the patient or inform the patient about the care that she must maintain from home. These aspects are essential for the patient to recover. These are responsibilities and tasks of the nursing staff that should be fully complied with, but for some reason they only do so occasionally, so it is necessary to seek strategies that allow the staff to be influenced to change these aspects. Conclusion: It was concluded that the dimensions of humanized care influence the care provided by the nursing professional.en-US
dc.descriptionIntroducción: En el cuidado humaniza-do se pone en práctica los valores como la solidaridad, el respeto, la empatía, entre otros, por eso debe ser promocio-nado en el área de enfermería a fin que sea cultivado, aprendido y practicado por los profesionales. Objetivo: Determi-nar el cuidado que brinda el profesional de enfermería en pacientes intervenidos quirúrgicamente en una entidad guber-namental. Metodología: La investigación es de alcance descriptivo, transversal. El diseño fue no experimental, la técni-ca utilizada fue la encuesta realizada a 362 pacientes del área de quirófano del hospital objeto de estudio, y el instrumen-to un cuestionario de 31 preguntas en donde se evaluó la variable de cuidado humanizado. Resultados: la edad más frecuente de los pacientes se encuentra entre los 31 a 40 años seguida de cerca por las personas que tienen entre 41 a 50 años. La mayoría de los pacientes trabaja bajo dependencia siendo un total de 320 personas y, apenas 26 individuos, traba-jan de manera independiente. Es eviden-te que el personal de enfermería en re-currencia, a veces, brinda explicaciones sobre los procesos que le van a efectuar al paciente o informó al paciente sobre los cuidados que debe mantener desde su casa. Estos aspectos son esenciales para que el paciente logre recuperarse. Son responsabilidades y tareas del per-sonal de enfermería que debería cumplir a cabalidad, pero por alguna razón solo lo efectúa en ocasiones, por lo que es ne-cesario buscar estrategias que permitan influir en el personal para que cambie es-tos aspectos. Conclusión: Se concluyó que las dimensiones del cuidado huma-nizado influyen en el cuidado que brinda el profesional de enfermería.es-ES
