dc.descriptionResumen:La presencia de la Compañía de Jesús a lo largo del territorio venezolano, requiere de un análisis pormenorizado. En el presente ensayo se aborda la gestión de los Jesuitas en la Diócesis de Mérida de Maracaibo, su impronta educativa y los efectos causados por su expulsión. Así como también la actuación  del Obispo Rafael Lasso de la Vega, Obispo de la mencionada Diócesis, y su empeño particular de llevar adelante las gestiones para el regreso de los jesuitas a estas tierras.Palabras clave: Compañía de Jesús, educación, expulsión, Obispo Lasso de la Vega, Diócesis de Mérida de Maracaibo.Abstract:The presence of the company of Jesus along the Venezuelan territory, requires a detailed analysis. This essay deals with the management of the Jesuits in the Diocese of Mérida from Maracaibo, an educational imprint and the effects caused by his expulsion.
