dc.descriptionResumen:El afán de Vicente Requeno por recuperar parte del mundo antiguo se pone de manifiesto en Ensayos para el restablecimiento de la música de los griegos y romanos cantores, donde realiza un exhaustivo análisis, en dos partes, de la antigua teoría harmónica grecolatina, comenzando desde las prácticas musicales egipcias y hebreas. Tras estudiar lo que podría considerarse el periodo mítico de la antigua música grecolatina, se detiene críticamente en las aportaciones de músicos y musicólogos grecolatinos. En este trabajo se presentará el panorama mítico-musical bíblico y grecolatino que el abate de Calatorao recoge en la primera parte de esta obra. Se verá que, en este sentido, el abate de Calatorao refiere los logros y anécdotas, así como su aplauso o censura, relacionadas con la música por parte de personajes míticos de diverso ámbito: cantores, sonadores, sátiros o profetas paganos.Palabras Clave: Abate Requeno, música grecolatina antigua, Jubal, Homero, Marsias.Abstract:The desire of Vicente Requeno to recover part of the ancient world is revealed in Ensayos para el restablecimiento de la música de los griegos y romanos cantores, where he makes an exhaustive analysis, in two parts, of ancient Greek-Roman harmonic theory, starting from the Egyptian and Hebrew musical practices. After studying what could be considered the mythical period of Greek-Roman ancient music, it is critically stops on the contributions of Greek-Roman musicians and musicologists. In this work the biblical and Greek-Roman mythical and musical panorama that the Abbe of Calatorao collect in the first part of this work. It will be seen that, in this sense, the Abbe of Calatorao refers achievements and anecdotes, as well as his applause or censure, related to music by mythical characters of different field: singers, instrumentalists, satyrs or pagan prophets.Key Words: Abbot Requeno, ancient Greek-Roman music, Jubal, Homer, Marsyas.es-ES
