dc.descriptionResumen:El presente estudio, enmarcado en un proceso metódico de historia, identidad y arqueología etnolingüística, se centra en los nombres de parcialidades y sitios originarios o aborígenes de los Andes venezolanos, con especial énfasis en los tachirenses. Luego de una criba de los fonemas, se identificaron, iniciando con la palabra «Táchira», a partir de sus estructuras, una presunción relativa de patrones comunes, coincidentes con los de una lengua raíz aborigen andina muerta o familia lingüística –muisca o chibcha–, perteneciente al tronco de las lenguas amerindias. Para ello se partió de la premisa: las características comunes a unas lenguas o dialectos, son también características de una lengua o dialecto común antecesor. Buscándose así teorizar un contenido lexicográfico-explicativo como punto de partida para una línea de investigación etnolingüística, donde se generen investigaciones más densas, que aprueben o rechacen las hipótesis aquí estructuradas.Palabras clave: Táchira, etnolingüística, lexicografía, topohistoria, toponimia.Abstract:This paper identifies the key stages of the development of the aboriginal term ‘Táchira’, with theoretical and ethno linguistic models. It is an updated methodical process of comparative studies –from history, identity and linguistic archeology- attempting of descriptive cataloging of the names of the native peoples of the Tachiran Andes. We showed etymological that there are evidence of close associations between some Tachiran aboriginal words and a native Andean aboriginal language dead: the Chibcha, belonging to the trunk of the Amerindian languages. Thus, 'Táchira' like a single, three-part word, derives from ancient and extinct Chibchan (Ch) language, meaning 'Our farming forever' or 'Our present land of tomorrow' [< Ch. ta, farm (root word) + chi, belonging to us (suffix) + rá, element modifying added at end of sentence that expresses place, moment or position with unchanging quality, future].Keywords: Táchira, ethno linguistic, lexicography, topohistory, toponymy.es-ES
