dc.descriptionResumen:En este artículo se establece un acercamiento a la relación de Diego Bautista Urbaneja Alayón con el poder político durante el decenio 1863-1873, período en el cual estuvo vinculado, en su condición de jurisconsulto y militante liberal, primero con el gobierno de Juan Crisóstomo Falcón como legislador y funcionario público de alto nivel y, posteriormente, con la administración de Antonio Guzmán Blanco en la que, al ser hombre de confianza del caudillo y justificador del orden instaurado por éste, ocupó espacios ministeriales, parlamentarios y diplomáticos, convirtiéndose en pieza fundamental para la instrumentación de las primeras medidas gubernamentales al inicio del Septenio; circunstancia en la que demostró adhesión al jefe de la causa al defender públicamente a Guzmán Blanco, tras los cuestionamientos que en 1872 y 1873 hicieron al presidente el arzobispo de Caracas y el general Luis Level de Goda, respectivamente.Palabras clave: Diego Bautista Urbaneja, Letrados y caudillos, Federación, Guzmancismo.Abstract:This article establishes an approach to the relationship of Diego Bautista Urbaneja Alayón with the political power during the decade 1863-1873, period in which he was linked, in his capacity as a lawyer and liberal militant, first with the government of Juan Crisóstomo Falcón as a legislator and high-level public official and later with the administration of Antonio Guzman Blanco who was a confidence man of the caudillo and justifier of the order established by him, occupied ministerial spaces, parliamentarians and diplomats, becoming a fundamental piece to the implementation of the first governmental measures at the beginning of the Septenium; A circumstance in which he showed allegiance to the chief of the cause in publicly defending Guzmán Blanco, after the questionings in 1872 and 1873 made him president the general Luis Level of Goda and the archbishops of Caracas.Keywords: Diego Bautista Urbaneja, Lawyers and caudillos, Federation, Guzmancismo.es-ES
