dc.descriptionResumen:En este trabajo se reconstruyen algunos eventos significativos de la vida del general Miguel Acevedo Acal, quien participó en importantes contiendas del siglo XIX, incluida la guerra de independencia. Acevedo alcanzó el grado de General en Jefe durante la Guerra Federal por su actuación en la región de Barlovento y los Valles del Tuy. Allí se mantuvo activo hasta el año de su muerte, acaecida en julio de 1870.La propuesta de investigación planteada consiste en analizar los manifiestos que redacto Acevedo en 1839 y 1863 y algunas noticias respecto a su participación en la vida política nacional, según reseña la historiografía del siglo XIX.Aunque la Nación lo reconoció como prócer y un municipio del estado Miranda lleva su nombre, la figura de Acevedo es desconocida en su región natal.Palabras clave: General Miguel Acevedo, Antonio Guzmán Blanco, Guerra de Independencia, Guerra Federal.Abstract:This work reconstructs some significant events in the life of general Miguel Acevedo Acal, who participated in important contests of the 19th century, including the war of independence. Acevedo reached the rank of General in Chief during the Guerra Federal for his outstanding participation in the Barlovento region and the Valles del Tuy. There he remained active until the year of his death, which occurred in July 1870.The proposed research proposal consists of analyzing the manifestos that Acevedo wrote in 1839 and 1863 and some news regarding his participation in national political life, according to XIX century historiography.Although the nation recognized him as a hero and a municipality of the Miranda State bears his name, the figure of Acevedo is unknown in his native region.Keywords: General Miguel Acevedo, Guerra Federal, Antonio Guzmán Blanco, War of Independence.es-ES
