dc.descriptionResumen:Un aspecto poco destacado del proceso de unificación de las provincias que luego conformarán la Capitanía General de Venezuela, es la creación del Arzobispado de Caracas en 1804. Este será para la unidad religiosa lo que la Capitanía General en el plano militar y político, la Intendencia para los asuntos fiscales y económicos, y la Real Audiencia para la administración de justicia. De este modo la unidad religiosa de las distintas provincias que conformaban la unidad política viene a completar la configuración de la nación venezolana.Palabras clave: Venezuela Siglo XIX, unidad religiosa, creación de Arzobispados. Abstract:The creation of the Archbishopric of Caracas in 1804 is an inadequately known aspect of the unification process of the provinces that made up the Capitanía General de Venezuela. This event was to religious unity what the Capitanía General was to the military and political perspective, the Intendencia to fiscal and economic affairs and the Real Audiencia to the administration of justice. The religious merging of the different provinces that now had political unity completed the conformation of the Venezuelan nation.Keywords: 19th century Venezuela, religious unity, creation of archbishoprics.es-ES
