| dc.description | Resumen: Las formaciones campesinas en Brasil, se dieron a través de las estrategias de ocupación agraria de grupos de esclavos fugitivos (mocambos y quilombos) en Espírito Santo, Maranhão y Río de Janeiro. Estas comunidades intentaban instalarse en lugares donde pudieran establecer intercambios comerciales. Dentro de estos grupos coexistieron diversas formas de cimarronaje: comunidades independientes con actividades campesinas integradas a la economía local; la protesta reivindicativa de los esclavos; y los pequeños grupos fugitivos que se dedicaron a asaltos a las haciendas y los pueblos cercanos.Palabras clave: Brasil Siglo XIX, Historia agraria, formación del campesinado.Abstract: This article presents experiences of black peasant formation in Brazil during the times of slavery and post-emancipation. Based on archival sources and an ethno-historical approach, it seeks to understand the formation of peasant groups close to regions where there were runaway communities, black sharecropper villages, and housing for slaves. This article analyses the formation of collective memory, its meaning, and the use of land. It also explains how the presence of these settlements is related to current debates on land property rights in areas where there are Quilombo remnants’ lands and black landless peasants.Keywords: 20th century Brazil, agrarian history, establishment of peasant groups. | es-ES |
