| dc.description | Periodization represents one of the necessary tools for approaching the study of history, whether it refers to specific events, spaces, or individuals. It allows for the dissection of the thematic content intended for research, teaching, or dissemination. Periodization is a task that involves specific steps depending on the purposes of the researcher or the educator. Thus, starting from this methodological concept, the history of the University of the Andes can be taught or researched in a general or specificmanner. The former, through a historical review covering its two hundred and thirteen years of existence. The latter, by segmenting that time into centuries, decades, or five-year periods, so that matters can be pinpointed in a specific and precise way (1810-2026). In this sense, this article is aimed at presenting a periodization by historical stages that has allowed us to know and understand the evolution of the University of the Andes (ulandino), informing readers who are interested in general or specific knowledge, and also serving as a framework for those who need to research certain aspects. The work is complemented by a list of the authorities who have held the positions of Rector, Vice-Rector, Academic Vice-Rector, Administrative Vice-Rector, and Secretary during the aforementioned years. | en-US |
| dc.description | La periodización representa una de las herramientas necesaria para abordar el estudio de la historia, sea esta referida a hechos, espacios o personajes determinados. Ello permite diseccionar el contenido temático que se pretende investigar, enseñar o divulgar. Periodizar es una tarea que tiene pasos específicos dependiendo de los propósitos del investigador o del docente. Así, partiendo de este concepto metodológico, la historia de la Universidad de Los Andes puede ser enseñada o investigada de manera general o particular. La primera, mediante un repaso histórico que abarque su tiempo de doscientos trece años de existencia. La segunda, a través de seccionar ese tiempo en centurias, décadas o quinquenios, de manera que se puedan precisar asuntos de forma específica y precisa (1810-2026). En tal sentido, este artículo está orientado a la presentación de unaperiodización por etapas históricas que nos ha permitido conocer y comprender el devenir ulandino, informando a los lectores que sientan interés en un conocimiento general o particular, y también como esquema para quienes tengan la necesidad de investigar sobre determinados aspectos. Se complementa el trabajo con un listado de las autoridades que han ocupado los cargos de Rector, Vicerrector, Vicerrector Académico, Vicerrector Administrativo y Secretario en los referidos años.
