dc.descriptionThis article analyzes the onto-epistemic controversy between deductive and inductive methods within the National Training Program (PNF) in Veterinary Medicine at UNESR, Bolívar Campus. Given the institutional tendency to impose the socio-critical paradigm and Participatory Action Research (PAR) as the only valid pathways, the need arises to reclaim investigative plurality. Using a critical-documentary review methodology, the study examines the essential coherence between the object of study and the researcher’s ontological stance. It is argued that while clinical veterinary challenges require the objective rigor of positivism, social and preventive phenomena find their appropriate framework within interpretive and critical paradigms. The findings suggest that the imposition of a “mono-methodism” blurs the essence of the studied phenomenon and restricts academic freedom. It is concluded that there is no hierarchy of validity between methods, but rather a mandatory correspondence between the researcher’s vision and the nature of the reality being addressed. Promoting a constructive and decolonized debate allows veterinary research to transcend dogma, becoming a genuine bridge for learning and social transformation without sacrificing the scientific rigor that the discipline demands.en-US
dc.descriptionEl presente artículo analiza la controversia ontoepistémica entre los métodos deductivo e inductivo en el Programa Nacional de Formación (PNF) en Medicina Veterinaria de la UNESR, Núcleo Bolívar. Ante la tendencia institucional de imponer el paradigma sociocrítico y la Investigación Acción Participación (IAP) como rutas únicas, surge la necesidad de reivindicar la pluralidad investigativa. Bajo una metodología de revisión crítica-documental, se examina la coherencia necesaria entre el objeto de estudio y la postura ontológica de los investigadores. Se argumenta que, mientras los desafíos clínicos veterinarios requieren el rigor objetivo del positivismo, los fenómenos sociales y preventivos encuentran su cauce en los paradigmas interpretativo y crítico. Los hallazgos sugieren que la imposición de un “monometodismo” desdibuja la esencia del fenómeno estudiado y limita la libertad académica. Se concluye que no existe una jerarquía de validez entre métodos, sino una obligatoria correspondencia entre la visión del investigador y la naturaleza de la realidad abordada. Promover un debate constructivo y descolonizado permite que la investigación veterinaria trascienda el dogma, convirtiéndose en un puente genuino para el aprendizaje y la transformación social sin sacrificar la rigurosidad científica que la disciplina exige. Recepción/Received: 22/05/2026Aprobación/Approved: 17/06/2026es-ES
