dc.descriptionThe article outlines a toponymic discourse analysis on the written relation of a religious visit realized in 1619 to the Venezuelan Andes. On the basis of the linguistic methodology, it identifies the type of discourse of the visitor Alonso Vásquez de Cisneros, concerning the need to know thoroughly the environmental components of the Mucuchíes region. The article deals with three parts: 1) An introduction to the methodology of the discursive analysis, emphasizing narrative mode; 2) A review of the linguistic of the toponymy; 3) The analysis of the discourse as such.en-US
dc.descriptionEl artículo ofrece un análisis del discurso toponímico expresado en la relación escrita de una visita religiosa realizada en 1619 a los Andes merideños (Mucuchíes). Basado en la metodología lingüística, se identifica el tipo de discurso del visitador Alonso Vásquez de Cisneros, específicamente en lo relativo a conocer exhaustivamente los componentes medioambientales de dicha zona.
