dc.description	This article shows the different strategies used by the residents of the City of Guanajuato to face the ecclesiastical and civil legal systems following marital conflicts caused by the introduction in 1778 of the Royal Pragmatic on Marriage of Carlos III, with emphasis on trading practices between the parties and their parents in cases of conflicting interests with respect to the realization of their marriages. In support of this it is necessary to inquire into the ecclesiastical and civil laws that supported the positions of Church and State in order to show their struggles and contradictions about marriage and the way in which the different parties resorted to them to support their cases. The argumentative strategy is in three sections: the first one focuses on the analysis of ecclesiastical law, the second features a discussion about the Royal Pragmatic on Marriage, and the third analyzes the dissenting judgments about marriages from 1778 to 1800.	en-US
dc.description	Este artículo muestra las diversas estrategias que utilizaron los pobladores de la Ciudad de Guanajuato para enfrentarse a los sistemas normativos eclesiásticos y civiles a raíz de los conflictos matrimoniales suscitados por la implantación en 1778 de la Real Pragmática de Casamientos de Carlos III, haciendo hincapié en las prácticas de negociación que se suscitaron entre los contrayentes y sus padres en casos de intereses opuestos con respecto a la realización de sus matrimonios. Para fundamentar lo anterior es necesario indagar sobre las legislaciones eclesiásticas y civiles que sustentaban las posiciones de la Iglesia y el Estado con el fin de mostrar sus pugnas y contradicciones acerca del matrimonio, así como la manera en la que las diferentes partes involucradas recurrían a ellas para sostener sus casos. La estrategia argumentativa se realiza en tres apartados: el primero de ellos se enfoca en el análisis de la legislación eclesiástica, en el segundo se examinan las características de la Real Pragmática de Casamientos, y en el tercero se analizan los juicios de disenso acerca de los matrimonios a partir de 1778 y hasta 1800.	es-ES
