LA DEMOCRACIA DESDE EL DISCURSO. VINCULACIONES ENTRE POLÍTICA Y LITERATURA

Abstract

La literatura, como construcción discursiva, se ve permeada por las coordenadas espacio temporales en las cuales se insertan sus autores. Si bien su propósito no es convertirse en una proclama política, es inevitable que en las novelas venezolanas contemporáneas se vea reflejado el país con todos sus avatares sociales, políticos y económicos, invitando al lector a hacer sus propias interpretaciones de las in-consistencias de la democracia actual. En tal sentido, resulta oportuno plantearse algunas reflexiones acerca del modo en que se representan las características de este sistema de gobierno, así como su ponderación por parte de escritores y receptores en la medida en que los personajes sugieren vivencias específicas condicionadas por las concepciones y las práticas políticas que colocan en tensión los vínculos entre el discurso oficial y las propuestas de las recreaciones ficcionales. En concordancia, se reconoce que ha sido una constante de nuestras producciones, específicamente narrativas, la exploración de las motivaciones, realizaciones y alternativas en el ejercicio de la ciudadanía. Para valorar los aspectos mencionados, se propone el acercamiento a las novelas: Los cuatro reyes de la baraja (1991) de Francisco Herrera Luque, Doña Inés contra el olvido (1992) de Ana Teresa Torres, Nosotros todos (2012), de Manuel Acedo Sucre y Patria o muerte (2015), de Alberto Barrera Tyszka. En estas se apreciará la textualización de proposiciones teóricas, entre ellas, la referencia a los líderes que emergen en y de los tiempos de crisis que debieran constituirse como símbolos de paz, trabajo y progreso: nace así la figura del caudillo. Un constructo que será el punto de partida para re-descubrir un comportamiento que determina la configuración, es decir, los modos de comprensión y asimilación de las relaciones de poder, en la sociedad venezolana.

Literature, as a discursive construction, is permeated by the temporal space coordinates in which its authors are inserted. Although its purpose is not to become a political proclamation, it is inevitable that in contemporary Venezuelan novels the country will be reflected with all its social, political and economic avatars, inviting the reader to make their own interpretations of the inconsistencies of the current democracy. In this sense, it is appropriate to consider some reflections about the way in which the characteristics of this system of government are represented, as well as its weighting by writers and recipients insofar as the characters suggest specific experiences conditioned by conceptions and beliefs. political practices that place in tension the links between official discourse and the proposals of fictional recreations. In agreement, it is recognized that it has been a constant of our productions, specifically narratives, the exploration of the motivations, realizations and alternatives in the exercise of citizenship. To assess the mentioned aspects, the approach to the novels is proposed: The Four Kings of the Shuffle (1991) by Francisco Herrera Luque, Doña Inés against oblivion (1992) by Ana Teresa Torres, Nosotros todos (2012), by Manuel Acedo Sucre and Patria o muerte (2015), by Alberto Barrera Tyszka. In these the textualization of theoretical propositions will be appreciated, among them, the reference to the leaders that emerge in and of the times of crisis that should be constituted as symbols of peace, work and progress: the figure of the caudillo is born. A construct that will be the starting point to re-discover a behavior that determines the configuration, that is, the modes of understanding and assimilation of power relations, in Venezuelan society.
