LA GUERRA DE LA TRIPLE ALIANZA: LO QUE SABEMOS DEL MAYOR CONFLICTO DECIMONÓNICO DE IBEROAMÉRICA

Abstract

La Guerra de Paraguay, de la Triple Alianza o de la triple infamia es un conflicto de grandes consecuencias para las tempranas repúblicas independientes iberoamericanas. Sin embargo su carácter cruento y la difícil relación posterior entre vencedores y vencidos, unido al carácter difícilmente clasificable de los próceres implicados, a la destrucción de valiosas fuentes documentales y al revisionismo, han llevado a la infoxicación de una parte muy importante de la historia de cuatro grandes países, que aún tiene que remediarse completamente.

The Paraguayan War, the War of the Triple Alliance or the Triple Infamy’s war is a conflict with great consequences for the early independent ibero-american republics. Howewer, it’s gruesome history and difficult afterwards relationship between victors and victims, together with the strong personalities of all the involved personalities, the destruction of valuable historical documents and the appearance of revisionism, have driven to the infoxication of a very important part in the history of four great countries. This have yet to be fully repaired.
