dc.descriptionTrismus can be defined as a condition that is generated by multiple causes such as head and neck cancer that is treated by surgery and radiotherapy, characterized by functional limitation of the jaw. Their treatment is fundamentally physiotherapy, where they apply what they call active exercises and passive exercises. The main objective is to limit the closure of the mouth opening. OBJECTIVE: Our objective was to ensure that the patient had the possibility of acquiring a device so as not to delay the start of physiotherapy, at a non-significant cost. METHOD: To carry out the project, we began by designing and evaluating the possibilities of manufacturing a device to offer to the patient. RESULTS: It was found that the feasibility of manufacturing said device had no drawbacks and it was possible to obtain said functional device. CONCLUSION: It is an option to manufacture the Trismodent device in Venezuela to offer patients with trismus condition.en-US
dc.descriptionEl trismo se puede definir como una condición que es generada por múltiples causas tales como el cáncer de cabeza y cuello que es tratado por cirugía y radioerapia, se caracteriza por la limitación funcional de la mandíbula. Su tratamiento es fundamentalmente fisioterapia, donde aplican lo que llaman ejercicios activos y ejercicios pasivos. El objetivo principal es limitar el cierre de la apertura bucal. OBJETIVO: Nuestro objetivo fue conseguir que el paciente tuviera la posibilidad de adquirir un dispositivo para no retardar el inicio de la fisioterapia, a un costo no significativo. MÉTODO: Para realizar el proyecto se comenzó diseñando y evaluando las posibilidades de fabricar un dispositivo para ofrecerle al paciente. RESULTADOS: Se encontró que la viabilidad de fabricar dicho dispositivo no presentaba inconvenientes y se lograba obtener dicho dispositivo funcional. CONCLUSIÓN: Es una opción la fabricación del dispositivo Trismodent en Venezuela para ofrecer a los pacientes que cursan con la condición de trismoes-ES
