dc.descriptionEl quiste odontogénico glandular es un quiste cuyo origen está asociado a los remanentes de la lámina dental. La zona anterior mandibular es el sitio de mayor ocurrencia y se presenta como una indolora y de crecimiento lento, afecta a personas de la 4ta y 5ta década de la vida, con una ligera predilección por el género masculino. El objetivo del presente artículo es, discutir las características clínicas, radiográficas e histopatológicas de una paciente femenina de 59 años de edad, sin antecedentes médicos contributorios que acudió a consulta de Cirugía Bucal con aumento de volumen, asintomático, en la región anterior del cuerpo mandibular. Bajo anestesia local se realizó biopsia incisional, seguida de enucleación y curetaje a las dos semanas posteriores a la primera intervención. El Q.O.G. es una variante poco frecuente, similar a otros quistes, debido a esto, el examen histopatológico cumple un papel fundamental en el diagnóstico de la lesión. No existe un criterio estandarizado para el tratamiento de esta lesión, es por eso que se debe correlacionar la clínica con las características microscópicas.Recibido: 17/1/2023 - Aceptado: 16/5/2023es-ES
dc.descriptionThe glandular odontogenic cyst is a cyst whose origin is associated with the remnants of the dental lamina. The anterior mandibular area is the site of greatest occurrence and presents as a painless and slow-growing disease, affecting people in the 4th and 5th decade of life, with a slight predilection for the male gender. The objective of this article is to discuss the clinical, radiographic and histopathological characteristics of a 59-year-old female patient, with no contributing medical history, who attended the Oral Surgery consultation with asymptomatic volume increase in the anterior region of the mandibular body. Under local anesthesia, an incisional biopsy was performed, followed by enucleation and curettage two weeks after the first intervention. The Q.O.G. It is a rare variant, similar to other cysts, due to this, the histopathological examination plays a fundamental role in the diagnosis of the lesion. There is no standardized criteria for the treatment of this lesion, which is why the clinic must be correlated with the microscopic characteristics.en-US
