dc.descriptionFractures of the zygomatico-orbital complex can significantly affect facial aesthetics, and the choice of surgical approach is crucial to optimize aesthetic and functional results. If not treated in time, they can have a variety of clinical sequelae due to the anatomical complexity of the region. These post-traumatic deformities of the maxillofacial skeleton are a challenge at the time of their reconstruction. Therefore, the ability to accurately restore facial projection and contour using open reduction techniques and rigid internal fixation of the facial buttresses has improved radically with the advent of digital planning. The objective of this study is to describe the importance of digital planning for the management of sequelae of Zygomatico-Orbital Complex fractures through the presentation of a clinical case corresponding to a 57-year-old male patient, who 4 months after suffering an impact on the facial mass, without receiving any type of treatment, comes to the Maxillofacial Surgery Service of the Hospital General del Oeste ¨Dr. José Gregorio Hernández¨ for presenting aesthetic dissatisfaction, for which a mirror model and a cutting guide were made through digital planning, which served to obtain, from the autologous skull graft, a zygoma model that was used for surgical reconstruction, obtaining a satisfactory aesthetic and functional result.en-US
dc.descriptionLas fracturas del complejo cigomático orbitario pueden afectar significativamente la estética facial, y la elección del enfoque quirúrgico es crucial para optimizar los resultados estéticos y funcionales. De no ser tratadas a tiempo pueden tener una variedad de secuelas clínicas debido a la complejidad anatómica de la región, estas deformidades postraumáticas del esqueleto maxilofacial son un reto al momento de su reconstrucción, es por ello que la capacidad de restablecer con precisión la proyección y el contorno facial utilizando técnicas de reducción abierta y fijación interna rígida de los contrafuertes faciales ha mejorado radicalmente con el advenimiento de la planificación digital. El objetivo de este estudio es describir la importancia de la planificación digital para el manejo de secuelas de fracturas de Complejo Cigomático Orbitario por medio de la presentación de un caso clínico correspondiente a paciente masculino de 57 años, quien 4 meses posterior a sufrir impacto en macizo facial, sin recibir ningún tipo de tratamiento, acude al servicio de Cirugía Maxilofacial del Hospital General del Oeste ¨Dr. José Gregorio Hernández¨ por presentar inconformidad estética, al cual mediante planificación digital, se le realizó un modelo en espejo y una guía de corte que sirvió para obtener, del injerto autólogo de calota, un modelo de cigoma que se empleó para la reconstrucción quirúrgica, obteniendo un resultado estético y funcional satisfactorio.Recibido: 1-10-2024 Aceptado: 23-10-2024es-ES
