El estudio etnográfico a través de Malinowski y Geertz: Variaciones para un mismo tema.

Abstract

A partir de las lecturas de Los Argonautas del pacífico occidental (1973) de Malinowsky y del Antropólogo como autor de Geertz (1989), se establecen relaciones para comprender la labor del etnógrafo a través de estos autores que representan para la etnografía clásica pilar fundamental del oficio. El lector no especializado de productos etnográficos, suele encontrarlos atractivos porque informan de manera amena e incluso anecdótica sobre realidades distantes y distintas. A pesar de contar con destacados y trascendentales autores, la etnografía y su producción confronta dificultades de diversa índole que los autores referidos abordan alrededor de tres grandes temas, la Objetividad, el Lenguaje y el Método que como telón de fondo aderezan el pensamiento y la reflexión de los autores. Estos temas no son eventuales sino que reflejan una preocupación por conferir a la etnografía rango y reconocimiento científico que le permita ser reconocida como tal en el repertorio de las ciencias sociales

From the readings of The Argonauts of the Western Pacific (1973) by Malinowsky and the Anthropologist as the author of Geertz (1989), relationships are established to understand the work of the ethnographer through these authors who represent classical ethnography as a fundamental pillar of the job. The non-specialized reader of ethnographic products usually finds them attractive because they inform in a pleasant and even anecdotal way about distant and different realities. Despite having outstanding and transcendental authors, ethnography and its production confront difficulties of various kinds that the authors refer to around three major themes, Objectivity, Language and Method, which provide a backdrop for thought and reflection of the authors. These issues are not eventual but reflect a concern to confer on ethnography a rank and scientific recognition that allows it to be recognized as such in the repertoire of the social sciences.
