ALCANCE HISTÓRICO-SOCIAL DEL RETRATO FOTOGRÁFICO. DESDE LOS INICIOS DEL INVENTO HASTA SU LLEGADA A LATINOAMÉRICA
Resumen
La fotografía nace en el siglo XIX en Francia, luego de una larga búsqueda de un registro visual duradero por medios mecánicos. Desde el mismo momento de su invención, surge la industria del retrato fotográfico que entusiasma a la sociedad
europea pudiente. Por ello, se pretende explicar cómo se convierte el retrato en la forma idónea de identificación de la burguesía para lograr trascendencia y disociación de los grupos más desposeídos de la sociedad. Igualmente, se explica la evolución de la fotografía en Latinoamérica, los principales fotógrafos pioneros, sus temas visuales, incluido el uso del retrato de fallecidos y de sacramentos, así como el traslado de los
valores europeos a la fotografía del continente americano. De acuerdo a lo planteado, se examinarán textos relacionados con lo histórico fotográfico para reflexionar las ideas esgrimidas en el presente trabajo investigativo. The photograph was born in the 19th century in France, after a long search for a lasting visual record by mechanical means. From the very moment of his invention, the industry of photographic portraiture arises that excites the European society. It is therefore intended to explain how the portrait becomes the ideal form of identification of the bourgeoisie to achieve transcendence and dissociation of the most deprived groups in society. It also explains the evolution of photography in Latin America, the
main pioneering photographers, their visual themes, including the use of the portrait of
deceased and sacraments, as well as the transfer of European values to the photography of the American continent. According to the above, we will examine texts related to the photographic history, to reflect the ideas put forward in the present research work.
