    Abstract
    Este artículo analiza la innovación de las orientaciones pedagógicas y didácticas del enfoque cualitativo en la enseñanza de la geografía escolar. Asume como obstáculo epistémico que su labor formativa ocasiona para dificultar la comprensión crítica de la realidad sociohistórica actual, debido a la aplicación de fundamentos pedagógicos y didácticos tradicionales y conductistas. Eso determinó metodológicamente revisar bibliografía para explicar las ventajas educativas de la aplicación de métodos y técnicas y procedimientos del enfoque cualitativo en el mejoramiento de la calidad formativa de la geografía en la escuela. Concluye al recomendar que ante la evidente debilidad epistémica de la enseñanza geográfica tradicional, sea apremiante alfabetizar los ciudadanos hacia la formación de su conciencia crítica, fundada en su participación activa y protagónica al asumir como objetos de estudio, las dificultades geográficas comunitarias.
     
    The article analyzes the innovation of pedagogical and didactic orientations of positivism in school geography, with the incentive of the fundamentals of qualitative science. Assumes as epistemic obstacle positivism critically understand the current difficult socio-historical reality. Methodologically it determined that literature review to explain the teaching of geography and positivist qualitative change science. It concludes by recommending that the evident epistemic weakness of traditional teaching geography, literacy is compelling citizens towards the formation of his critical consciousness, based on their active and leading to assume as objects of study participation, local community geographical difficulties.
