    Abstract

Competences-based training requires the integration of generic and specific competences in contexts of real professional performance. Here is presented an experience in integrated evaluation during the initial training of veterinary surgeons. This active-significant learning situation had two objects: firstly for the students to revise and increase their previous knowledge required for bacteriological diagnosis (information management); and secondly for them to reflect on their results and establish connections with different aspects of the information (knowledge construction). Any course in the medical area requires reflective learning processes which remain over time and facilitate the installation of new and more complex processes.
