LA INVISIBILIZACIÓN SOCIAL DEL ADULTO MAYOR

Abstract

El adulto mayor es considerado bajo estereotipos como: Enfermizo, inútil, dependiente, senil, incapaz. Cuyo papel deprime su participación, en la dinámica relacional excluyéndolo de toda vida social. Frente a esta realidad existencial, el adulto mayor visto desde la realidad moral, vive el reconocimiento expresado en la caracterización de valioso a partir de las relaciones sociales significativas. De este modo, el significado del adulto mayor trasciende y se abre hacia la alteridad, logrando cambiar la percepción que tiene la sociedad sobre él. Por tanto, se trata de optar por otra visión más incluyente, definiéndolos en sí mismo, como personas valiosas para la sociedad.

The elderly is considered on stereotypes as: sickness, unusual, dependent, senile, and incapable. His performance depresses his participation in the relational dynamic excluding him from the social life. In front of this existential reality, the elderly, as moral subject, lives the recognition expressed in the characterized of value starting in the significant social relations. In this way, the elderly meaning transcends and opens to the otherness, achieving change the perception of the society from him. Thus, the point is change, the vision of this age group to see and define their as valuable people to the society.
