IMPACTO DE LA EDUCACIÓN VIRTUAL Y LAS TIC EN LA ANDRAGOGÍA

Abstract

La sociedad enfrenta un gran número de cambios, especialmente en el acceso y generación de información, y dando paso a una nueva materia prima, el conocimiento; lo cual se debe en gran medida al acelerado avance que han tenido las Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación (TIC). Esta sociedad del conocimiento requiere de capital humano preparado y dispuesto a asumir de manera idónea los retos que ofrece el Siglo XXI. De allí, que sea necesario ampliar las ofertas educativas, en particular a la población adulta. Es aquí donde interviene la Educación Virtual como espacio para dar respuesta desde la modernidad, a la preparación y mejoramiento profesional del adulto por contar con principios similares a los postulados propios de la andragogía. Es por esto que en el presente artículo se diserta acerca de la adecuación de la educación virtual como alternativa formativa explicitando las bondades, beneficios y retos de esta modalidad educativa en la adultez.

At present the society faces a large number of changes in a diversity of areas, and especially in the access and generation of information, leaving aside the industrialized stage and giving way to the new component, knowledge; thanks to the accelerated progress made by Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). In turn, this knowledge society requires capital human prepared and ready to assume in an ideal way the challenges offered by the 21st Century. Hence, it is necessary to expand educational offerings to an increasing number of people, and in particular the adult population. It is here that Virtual Education intervenes as a space to respond from the modernity, to the preparation and professional improvement of the adult to have principles similar to the postulates proper to andragogy. It is for this reason that in the present article it is discussed about the adequacy of the virtual education as a formative alternative explaining the benefits and challenges of this educational modality in the particular case of adulthood.
