BIENESTAR PSICOLÓGICO Y CALIDAD DE VIDA DE ADULTOS MAYORES EN TERRITORIOS DE BORDE COSTERO.

Abstract

El articulo reflexiona respecto de los procesos que vive el adulto mayor al enfrentar el proceso de envejecimiento en términos físicos, cognitivos, emocionales y sociales, aborda los desafíos existentes para vivir esta etapa desde un modelo de envejecimiento activo y apuntando al bienestar y la calidad de vida como principios de un nuevo orden. Establece además, la importancia del arraigo territorial para proyectar una vida sana y equilibrada, para finalmente presentar las complejidades asociadas al borde costero debido al desarrollo tecnológico y las brechas sociales existentes y de cómo estas características influyen en la vivencia del envejecimiento y en el esfuerzo por alcanzar una adecuada calidad de vida.

The article reflects on the processes experienced by the elderly when facing the aging process in physical, cognitive, emotional and social terms, addresses the challenges to live this stage from an active aging model and pointing to the well-being and quality of life as principles of a new order. It also establishes the importance of territorial roots to project a healthy and balanced life, to finally present the complexities associated with the coastal edge due to technological development and existing social gaps and how these characteristics influence the experience of aging and the effort to achieve an adequate quality of life.
