NECESIDAD DE UN MODELO DE GESTIÓN TECNOLÓGICA EN UNA UNIDAD ACADÉMICA DE SALUD BUCAL DE LA UNIVERSIDAD DE CARABOBO, VENEZUELA

Abstract

Las tecnologías de información y comunicación (TIC) han invadido numerosos campos de acción y las instituciones académicas no escapan a ello. El objeto de esta investigación es diagnosticar la necesidad de adoptar un modelo de gestión tecnológica en una institución académica de salud bucal de la Universidad de Carabobo a través de una investigación descriptiva, de campo y transeccional. La muestra fue intencional y selectiva, constituida por 12 docentes clínicos y 104 estudiantes de 5º año. Se encontró que el 49% de la muestra reconoce a las TIC y el 41% admite la necesidad de actualizarse en el tema. Asimismo, el 56% de los sujetos conoce su importancia en la docencia, el 58% en lo administrativo y el 48% en la investigación. Se concluye entonces que es necesario adoptar un modelo de gestión tecnológica en una institución educativa, así como insertar las TIC en los planes, proyectos y programas nacionales de educación.

Information and communication technologies (ICT) have invaded many fields of action and academic institutions do not escape to this determinant. The purpose of this research is to diagnose the implementation needs of a technological management model in an oral health academic institution, of the Carabobo University, through a descriptive, field and cross-sectional. The sample was intentionally selective, constituted by 12 clinical teachers and 104 5th grade students. Our findings show that 49% of the sample recognizes the ICT concept and 41% admits the need to update about the topic. Also, 56% of the sample recognizes the teaching relevance, 58% knows about the administrative relevance and 48% in the research. It is concluded, that it is necessary the implementation a technology management model in an academic institution, as well as, the ICT insertion in national education plans, projects and programs.
