Anemia de células falciformes, manejo del paciente odontopediátrico. Revisión bibliográfica

Abstract

Los pacientes pediátricos con anemia de células falciformes presentan sintomatología muy diversa y requieren un manejo estomatológico adecuado y de calidad que les permita mantener su salud bucal sin poner en riesgo su salud general. Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica sobre el tema en las principales bases de datos científicas, así como en revistas especializadas, con el objetivo de enfatizar las manifestaciones bucales, y las recomendaciones para el manejo odontopediatrico. Se efectuó una revisión sistemática de la literatura mediante la búsqueda de artículos científicos en la base de datos EBSCO específicamente en la sección dentistry & oral sciences source. Como descriptores de búsqueda se incluyó Sickel Cell Anemia. Se leyeron títulos, resúmenes y textos completos. Se clasificaron los artículos según el nivel de evidencia y los grados de recomendación, de acuerdo con los parámetros de la Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network. Resultados: Se identificaron 276 artículos, de los cuales se seleccionaron 54, que cumplieron los criterios de inclusión un filtro enmarcando los artículos publicados entre los años 2010-2017. Conclusiones: No existe suficiente evidencia científica que abarque el abordaje odontopediatrico de estos pacientes.

Pediatric patients with sickle cell anemia have very diverse symptomatology and require an adequate and quality stomatological management that allows them to maintain their oral health without jeopardizing their general health. A bibliographical review was carried out on the subject in the main scientific databases, as well as in specialized journals, with the objective of emphasizing oral manifestations, and recommendations for odontopediatric management. A systematic review of the literature was conducted through the search for scientific articles in the EBSCO database specifically in the section Dentistry & Oral Sciences source. Sickel Cell Anemia was included as search descriptors. Titles, summaries and full texts were read. The articles were classified according to the level of evidence and the degrees of recommendation, according to the parameters of the Scottish Intercollegiate guidelines Network. Results: 276 articles were identified, of which 54 were selected, which met the inclusion criteria a filter framing the articles published between the years 2010-2017. Conclusions: There is not enough scientific evidence to encompass the odontopediatric approach of these patients
