| en_US |
dc.description.abstract | The periodic control of the quality of the natural aquifer bodies is of vital importance, since they are preserved as reservoirs of water destined for human consumption. The hydrographic basin of the Caribbean Sea is made up of a group of sub-basins, including: Miquija-Goaigoaza, located on the northern slope of the San Esteban National Park (PNSE). The National Institute of Parks (INPARQUES) has observed alterations in the ecosystem, deterioration and variation of flow of these water resources. That is why physicochemical and microbiological parameters were determined at the sampling points, comparing these values obtained with the permissible limits of Decree 883. The results obtained show non-compliance with the norm in the following parameters, dissolved oxygen, total and fecal coliforms. The estimation of the monthly flows of both rivers under study was carried out by designing a mathematical model, applying the Box–Jenkins methodology supported in historical and current flows. Finally, the present work responds to the evaluation of the quality and the flow of these rivers, through the analysis and graphic representation, evidencing its deterioration as it progresses in its path, the flow having a non-stationary behavior. | en_US |
