El criptoactivo venezolano Petro y su valoración como criptomoneda e instrumento financiero.

Abstract

El objetivo del presente estudio fue analizar la funcionalidad, vigencia y repercusión del criptoactivo Petro en el actual contexto venezolano y su proyección en el mundo financiero, buscando evaluar si este criptoactivo venezolano representa a un instrumento mercantil. El tipo de investigación fue documental, explicativo, ya que se llevó a cabo una revisión sistemática, rigurosa y profunda de las fuentes documentales existentes, impresas o digitales, con énfasis en las notas de prensa, opiniones y análisis que especialistas en la materia han publicado al respecto. Concluyendo que el Petro no representa un activo digital fuerte en la consumación de captación de capitales como títulos de crédito, menos aún como herramienta de intercambio comercial debido a su realidad técnica, financiera y jurídica.

The objective of the present study was to analyze the functionality, validity and impact of the crypto asset Petro in the current Venezuelan context and its projection in the financial world, in order to assess if this Venezuelan crypto asset in fact represents a commercial instrument. The type of research was documentary, explanatory, given that a systematic, thorough and profound review of the existing documentary sources (printed or digital) was carried out, particularly of the press releases, opinions and analysis published by experts on the subject. The study arrived to the conclusion that the Petro does not represent a strong digital asset in the fulfillment of raising capital as negotiable instruments, let alone as a commercial exchange tool due to its technical, financial and legal reality.
