El aporte del turismo al desarrollo económico del Municipio de Pamplona, región nororiental de Colombia

Abstract

El documento tiene como objetivo determinar la importancia del sector turismo en el desarrollo económico del Municipio de Pamplona, Norte de Santander, Colombia. Se efectuó un estudio descriptivo-interpretativo con base en encuestas. Los resultados indicaron que el servicio de alimentación posee una gran participación en la cadena productiva del municipio, la mano de obra y los bienes y servicios provienen de la localidad y existe una fuerte percepción de que el sector es un importante elemento en el desarrollo económico de la región.

The objective of the study was to determine the importance of the tourism sector on the economic growth in the Municipality of Pamplona, Colombia. A descriptive-interpretative study was carried out and the data collection strategy was based on closed-ended questions. Results indicated that food service has a large participation in the municipality´s production chain, most of the labour, goods and services come from the local suppliers, and there is a strong perception that the sector is an important element in the region´s economic development.
