¿Qué factores pueden provocar bajos niveles de cooperación en un Sistema Productivo Local?

Abstract

A pesar de la forjada tradición de los Sistemas Productivos Locales (SPLs) y su demostrada utilidad, en determinados contextos socioculturales no logran los efectos deseados en cuanto a promover la cooperación entre las empresas implicadas. Los resultados de un estudio reciente realizado en el SPL de Lucena apuntan en esta dirección. ¿Por qué no cooperan las empresas como sería deseable? ¿Cuáles son las causas de que no lo hagan? Para tal fin, hemos planteado un estudio de caso de diseño mixto (cuantitativo/cualitativo). Tras analizar la información obtenida en el trabajo de campo se han identificado como principales causas: (1) la carencia de impulso institucional, y (2) la crisis de determinados valores socioculturales (confianza, compromiso y lealtad).

Despite the tradition of Local Productive Systems (LPS) and its proven usefulness, in some sociocultural contexts they don’t achieve the desired effects in terms of promoting cooperation among the companies involved. The results of a recent study conducted in the Lucena LPS point in this direction. Why do not companies cooperate as would be desirable? What are the causes of not doing so? To this end, we have reviewed the existing theory on industrial districts and, within these, on the Local Productive Systems, as well as a review of the previous studies on the Lucena LPS. After that we have proposed a mixed design case study (quantitative/qualitative). After analyzing the information obtained in the fieldwork, these main causes have been identified: (1) the lack of institutional impulse, and (2) the crisis of certain sociocultural values (trust, commitment and loyalty).
