Los procesos migratorios ecuatorianos en el marco de la interculturalidad: ventajas, rupturas y desafíos en el contexto histórico actual

Abstract

A partir de la segunda mitad del siglo XX, Ecuador se configuró como uno de los países sudamericanos con mayor índice de emigración. Sin embargo, desde los albores del presente siglo, el territorio ecuatoriano se ha ido constituyendo también en un destino atractivo para contingentes migratorios de distintas partes del mundo, aumentando notoriamente el número de inmigrantes en sus provincias. Por tal razón, en este artículo se presentan los resultados de una investigación documental que permite aportar elementos para un análisis sistemático acerca de las ventajas que ofrecen los intercambios culturales producto de los procesos migratorios actuales (interculturalidad), a partir del enfoque de las relaciones internacionales, destacando además las ventajas, rupturas y desafíos que presenta la migración en el contexto histórico actual.

From the second half of the 20th century, Ecuador was configured as one of the South American countries with the highest emigration rate. However, since the dawn of this century, the Ecuadorian territory has also become an attractive destination for migrant contingents from different parts of the world, notably the number of immigrants in their provinces. For this reason, this article presents the results of a documentary investigation that allows providing elements for a systematic analysis about the advantages offered by cultural exchanges as a result of current migratory processes (interculturality), based on the approach of international relations , also highlighting the advantages, ruptures and challenges that migration presents in the current historical context.
