dc.description.abstract | INTRODUCTION. The cardiopulmonary arrest is a challenge for clinicians, require that the physician faces, an organized associate their knowledge, skills and abilities. This principle arises the importance of periodic training programs in Cerebrocardiopulmonar Resuscitation (CPR); but several published studies have shown deficiencies in this area. OBJECTIVES. Compare the level of knowledge in (CPR) before and after of course in pediatric residents Central Hospital of San Cristobal (CHSC) in the second quarter of 2015. METHODS. Educational intervention study, prospective, longitudinal, analytical, clinical field; the sample was comprised of 27 residents CHSC in the second quarter of 2015 that met the inclusion criteria; knowledge is evaluated CPR, through a written exam of the American Heart Association AHA and a simulated environment, skill in CPR evaluated, through a checklist of the AHA. Subsequently they participated in a course of CPR and the same tests were applied. The descriptive and inferential analyzes were performed using IBM-SPSS 21 program. RESULTS. The degree of knowledge in CPR pre course showed a mean of 7.52 (SD 2.820) (p=<0.0001); post course showed a mean of 13.33 and (SD 2.434)(p=<0.0001), we were used to compare T Student for related samples. The level of skills CPR before the course, throw some results as contingency tables X2 7.40% (p=<0.001) relative to the comparison of the subsequent evaluation to the Training Program 81.48 % (p =<0.001). DISCUSSION. It was found that the degree of knowledge pre course was deficient and increase considerably after the course. The level of skills CPR before the course was low, showing significant improvement after the course. | en_US |
