Resumen
Objetivo: Determinar la presencia del Síndrome de Burnout en los Médicos Especialistas del Instituto Autónomo Hospital Universitario de Los Andes (IAHULA)en Mérida,EstadoMérida,enelaño2018.
Métodos:Sediseñó un estudio observacional donde se entregó enforma aleatoria encuestas a Médicos Especialistas que laboran en el IAHULA,consistente en un cuestionario convariables sociodemográficas y un instrumento:el Maslach Burnout Inventory-Health Services Survey(MBI-HSS)diseñado para cuantificar objetivamente elSíndrome deBurnout ysu intensidad en los tres niveles que locomponen: Agotamiento Emocional,Despersonalización y Realización Personal. Treintay nueve médicos respondieron las encuestas las cuales fueron analizadasen una base de datos a través del programa estadístico SPSS 22.0. Se aplicaron medidas de tendencia central (mediay mediana).Resultados: En elcomponente Agotamiento Emocional56.4% presentó nivel Bajo, 28.2%Intermedio y15.4% Alto.En Despersonalización, 69.2%tuvonivelBajo,23.1% Intermedio, y 7.7% Alto. En Realización Personal,hubo nivelBajoen 5.1%,nivel Intermedioen7.7%ynivel Altoen87.2%.Estas proporciones se mantuvieron similares entre especialistas deramasclínicas y quirúrgicas.Solamente un 5.1% presentólos tres niveles para Síndrome de Burnout.
Conclusión: El Síndrome de Burnout no es una patología común en la población de Médicos Especialistas Estudiados.No haya sociación estadística entre componentes del Síndrome de Burnout y variables sociodemográficas estudiadas. Objective: To determine the presence of the Burnout Syndrome in Specialist Physiciansof the Institute Autonomy Hospital University de Los Andes (IAHULA) in Mérida, Merida State, in the year 2018. Methods: An observational study was designed where a survey was handed out randomly to Specialist Physicians working in IAHULA, consisting in a questionnaire with socio demographic variables, and an instrument: the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Health Services Survey (MBI- HSS), designed to quantify objectively the Burnout Syndrome and its intensity in its three composing levels: Emotional Exhaustion, Depersonalization and Personal Realization. Thirty nine answered the survey, which were analyzed in a data base through the statistics program SPSS 22.0. Central tendency with mean and median measurements were applied. Results: In the Emotional Exhaustion component, 56.4% presented Low level, 28.2% Intermediate, and 15.4% High. In Depersonalization, 69.2% had Low level, 23.1% Intermediate, and 7.7% High. In Personal Realization, there was Low level in 5.1%, Intermediate in 7.7%, and High level in 87.2%. These proportions remained similar between specialists of clinical and surgical services. Only 5.1% presented the three components in levels characteristic of the Burnout Syndrome
Conclusion: The Burnout Syndrome does not represent a common pathology in the population of Specialist Physicians studied. There was no statistical association between components of Burnout Syndrome and socio demographical variables.
