| en_US |
dc.description.abstract | Objective: Identify the frequency of phenotype "hypertriglyceridemia waist and its association with cardio metabolic risk factors in children and adolescents. Materials and Methods: A total of 1291 children and adolescents between 7 and 18 years old, from Liberator municipality educational institutions were studied. Anthropometric measurements and blood pressure were recorded. Glucose, insulin and fasting lipids were determined. Results: 89.8 abdominal circumference presented pc ≤ 90. In relation to serum triglycerides 88.2% of the population had values ≤ pc 90. In relation to the phenotype Cint / HTG was found in 2.7% of the study population. In 35 patients the phenotype Cint / HTG was found was found in relation to those without in phenotype; higher levels of BMI, basal insulin, HOMA-IRC non HDL triglyceride cholesterol fraction (p = 0.0001) and lower levels of HDL cholesterol fraction (p = 0.0001). CT levels were also higher in the group with the phenotype under study (p = 0.01). Regarding blood pressure levels in both (TAS, TAD) they had higher baseline levels (p <0.005). Conclusions: Patients phenotype Cint / HTG have found higher levels of BMI, basal insulin, HOMA-IRC overall fraction triglycerides and lower levels of HDL cholesterol fraction nonHDL cholesterol so they have a higher cardiovascular risk than the rest of the population. | en_US |
