Variación de la frecuencia de ansiedad y depresión en pacientes hospitalizados en los Servicios de Medina Interna y Emergencias del Adulto del IAHULA desde marzo 2011 hasta agosto 2012

Abstract

INTRODUCCION: La ansiedad y la depresión son trastornos psiquiátricos de alta prevalencia entre los paciente ingresados por causas orgánicas en salas médicas o quirúrgicas de hospitales generales. OBJETIVO: Determinar la variación de la frecuencia de ansiedad y depresión en los pacientes hospitalizados en los Servicios de Medicina Interna y Emergencias del Adulto del Instituto Autónomo Hospital Universitario de Los Andes desde marzo 2011 hasta agosto 2012. METODODOLOGIA: Tipo de diseno: Se realizó un estudio observacional, con diseño prospectivo concurrente. Muestra: La muestra fue conformada por los pacientes que ingresaron al servicio de emergencias del adulto y hospitalización por el servicio de Medicina Interna que habían sido encuestados a su ingreso. La detección de síntomas de ansiedad y/o depresión se realizó mediante la aplicación de la Escala Hospitalaria de Ansiedad y Depresión (HAO). RESULTADOS: Predominó el género masculino (63,2%). El concubinato fue el estado civil más frecuente (30,2%). El grupo atario entre 35·61 años fue el más frecuente (50,5%). Solo un 6% de los pacientes requirieron áreas de cuidados intensivos. El 85,7% no recibieron tratamiento y solo el 14,3% tratamiento. Un 16,3% de los pacientes egresados presentaron síntomas de ansiedad y/o depresión. La ansiedad es más frecuente al ingreso (16,5%) y la depresión (8,2%) al egreso. Los pacientes que presentaron síntomas de ansiedad y depresión al egreso en su mayoría no recibieron ningún tratamiento 80,8% y 66,7% respectivamente. CONCLUSIONES: La frecuencia de ansiedad y/o depresión fue baja en los pacientes a cargo del servicio de Medicina Interna y hubo asociación entre la condición al egreso del paciente, el lugar de hospitalización y los resultados de la Escala HAO.

METHODOLOGY: Type of design: We pertormed an observational, prospective concurrent design Sample: The sample was shaped by the patients who entered to the emergency service of the adult and hospitalization for the service of Intemal Medicine that they had been polled to his revenue. The detection of symptoms of anxiety and I or depression was realized by means of the application of the Hospitable Scale of Anxietyand Depression (HAD). RESULTS: It predominated over the masculine kind (63,2%). The concubinage was the most frequent marital status (30,2%). The group etario between 35-61 years was the most frequent (50,5%). Only 6% of the patients needed areas of intensive careo 85,7% did not receive treatment and only 14,3% treatment. 16,3% of the gane away patients presented symptoms of anxiety and I or depression. CONCLUSIONS: The frequency of anxiety and I or depression was tower in patients in charge of Internal Medicine and was no association between patient discharge condition, place of hospitalization and HAD scate results.
