El aprovechamiento sostenible del turismo rural de ecuador. Caso de estudio: Cantón Mocha, Provincia de Tungurahua de Ecuador

Abstract

El presente artículo tiene como objetivo promocionar las características y potencialidades que tiene el cantón Mocha, localizado en la provincia de Tungurahua de Ecuador, para desarrollar productos y servicios relacionados con la oferta de un turismo rural sostenible. A este efecto se realizó una investigación documental que intenta, a través de un análisis del estado actual de la realidad turística del cantón objeto de estudio, interpretar la información obtenida con miras a ubicar todas las fortalezas de la región para posicionarse con éxito en las ofertas turísticas nacionales e internacionales de este tipo de modalidad turística. Los resultados de la investigación se basaron en la revisión bibliográfica obteniéndose los hallazgos más importantes que orientan la ubicación, institucionalidad, clima, biodiversidad, tradiciones, cultura, gastronomía, festividades, espacios naturales, actividades productivas, así como de la vocación de servicios turísticos de sus gestores y actores sociales que representa un potencial para ser utilizado por parte de la oferta diseñada para el desarrollo del turismo rural.

The purpose of this article is to promote the characteristics and potential of the Mocha canton, located in the Tungurahua province of Ecuador, to develop products and services related to the offer of sustainable rural tourism. For this purpose, a documentary investigation was carried out, which attempts through an analysis of the current state of the tourist reality of the canton under study, interpret the information obtained with a view to locating all the strengths of the region to position itself successfully in the national and international tourist offers of this type of tourist modality. The results of the research were based on the literature review, obtaining the most important findings that guide the location, institutionality, climate, biodiversity, traditions, culture, gastronomy, festivities, natural spaces, productive activities, as well as the vocation of tourist services of its managers and social actors that represents a potential to be used by the offer designed for the development of rural tourism.
