ARGUMENTACIÓN Y PUNTOS DE VISTA EVIDENCIALES: ACERCA DEL CONDICIONAL CITATIVO EN EL DISCURSO PERIODÍSTICO Y EN EL DISCURSO CIENTÍFICO

Abstract

En este trabajo se presenta una caracterización semántica del condicional citativo característico del discurso periodístico (por ej., Un fiscal imputaría a la expresidenta) y del discurso científico (por ej., Según Benveniste, nadie hablaría en la historia). En el marco del Enfoque dialógico de la argumentación y la polifonía, se propone que ambos condicionales vehiculizan puntos de vista evidenciales citativos. En tanto tales, ambos exigen la identificación de un marco de discurso previo que se muestra como la causa de la enunciación en la que aparecen y frente al cual queda constituido un posicionamiento subjetivo de respuesta. Distintos en cada caso, los marcos de discurso previos que los condicionales instan a recuperar son precisamente los que permiten explicar las diferencias de sentido que surgen de las enunciaciones periodísticas y de las enunciaciones científicas.

In this paper I present a semantic characterization of the quotative Spanish conditional typical of journalistic discourse (ex., Un fiscal imputaría a la expresidenta) and of scientific discourse (ex., Según Benveniste, nadie hablaría en la historia). Within the framework of the dialogical approach to argumentation and polyphony, it is proposed that both conditionals convey evidential quotative points of view. As such, both involve the identification of a previous discourse frame that is shown as the cause of the enunciation in which they appear and that explains the subjective positioning of response manifested in the utterance. Different in each case, the previous discourse frames that the conditionals urge to recover allow to explain the differences of meaning that arise from journalistic and scientific enunciations.
