Texto expositivo : estudio de los niveles discursivos en producciones escritas por estudiantes de nuevo ingreso

Abstract

El texto expositivo está en la base del discurso académico puesto que es la secuencia prototípica para comunicar, deconstruir y construir el conocimiento (Montolío, 2000). El objetivo esencial del estudio es indagar las características que presentan los textos expositivos escritos por estudiantes de nuevo ingreso en cuanto a la configuración de los niveles del discurso. El corpus lo confonnan treinta y un (31) producciones escritas por estudiantes del primer semestre del Programa de Ingeniería de Alimentos (UNESUR). Para esta investigación nos apoyamos en los postulados y en la metodología de la lingüística textual o lingüística del texto: van Dijk (1988), Combettes (1988), Adam (1990), Beaugrande y Dressler (1997). Se lleva a cabo una fase de intervención didáctica para ayudar a los estudiantes en la escritura de textos. El análisis de los datos arrojó que en el nivel superestructura! once (11) producciones siguieron el esquema del texto expositivo, lo que representa un 35.48% del total de la muestra; mientras que veinte (20) producciones no siguieron la superestructura expositiva para el 64.51% restante. En el nivel macroestructural se observó el uso de marcas de presentación y de macroproposiciones de definición, ejemplificación y explicación, no siempre utilizadas de fonna adecuada. El tipo de progresión temática utilizado es el de esquema de tema anclado, lo que pennite concluir que los estudiantes siguieron el patrón de construcción textual empleado por el autor del texto fuente.

The expository text is the basis of academic discourse since it is the prototypica: sequence used in order to communicate, to deconstruct and to construct knowledge (Montolío, 2000). The main objective of this research is to explore the characteristics shown in expository texts written by freshmen regarding the leve! settings of their written discourse. The corpus is made up of thirty-one (31) written pieces made by students of the first semester of the Food Engineering Program (UNESUR). As for this study we rely on the principIes and methodology of textual linguistics or text linguistics: van Dijk (1988), Combettes (1988), Adam (1990) and Beaugrande and Dressler (1997). A didactic intervention phase was done in order to help students out with their text writting skills. The data analysis showed that regarding the superstructure level, eleven (11) of them followed the expository text outline, which represents 35.48% of the sample, while twenty (20) of them didn't followed the expository superstructure, which are the 64.51% remaining. When it comes to the macrostructure level, we could observe that the presentational markup, the definition macroproposals as well as the modeling and explanations were not always used appropriately. The thematic progression type that was used was the anchored theme scheme, which leads to the conclusion that the students followed the pattern of textual construction used by the author of the source texto
