Educación, etnobotánica y rescate de saberes ancestrales en el Ecuador

Abstract

Las rápidas transformaciones socio-culturales acontecidas han llevado consigo la pérdida acelerada de saberes ancestrales, más aún en zonas rurales con alta migración. El presente estudio trata de fomentar el rescate de los saberes presentes en la parroquia de Taday (Cañar, Ecuador) sobre el uso de plantas. Entrevistas realizadas indicaron el uso de una alta diversidad de plantas, empleadas en su gran mayoría con fines medicinales. Actividades educativas son propuestas para fomentar el rescate y revalorización de dichos saberes ancestrales.

The rapid socio-cultural transformations occurred have led to accelerated loss of ancestral knowledge, even more in rural areas with high migration rate. The present study tries to promote the rescue of knowledge present in the parish of Taday (Cañar, Ecuador) about the use of plants. Interviews conducted indicated the use of a high plants diversity, mostly used with medicinal fines. Educational activities are proposed to promote the rescue and revaluation of this ancestral knowledge.
